How the HTC Vive Works
The HTC Vive was developed in collaboration with the gaming developer, Valve. They came up with a combination of two major players in hardware and software. The headset includes two 1080 x 1200 pixel display panels. To create a virtual reality image, the video streams at a 90Hz refresh rate.
Two base stations come included and should be placed in the corners of the room. The bases transmit laser beams towards the 32 headset sensors and 48 control sensors to determine the player's exact location in the room.
The minimum play area for movement is 1.5 mx 1.5 m, but maximum 4.5 mx 4.5 m. It's a fact, thatthe more space, the better the experience.
