I don't even find it that noisy during the process. It has two layers so you don't burn yourself on the surface. The display shows the current temperature of the water inside the kettle. On delivery I boiled it 5 times as per the instructions, then I made 4 coffees some teas and it works perfectly, heats up faster I find. The kettle switches off after 20 minutes when the activity is complete. This seems so deb***ed up to me though, it's not even possible. It would be enough if the kettle turned off in 5 minutes. And from the el. turning it off all the time, you'd probably be fooled. Then there's the sieve popping out of the teapot. When I wanted to quickly pour the water out of the kettle, the strainer inside for dirt always fell out. So that's why the 4* out of 5*
