We are used to grinders where the coffee stays inside and not in a closed mechanism, on the edges, so that when you take the top off, it spills everywhere and you get everything from it. I don't think it's quite true to grind the stated amount of coffee either. After a while it spins on empty because the coffee stops. With other grinders I've ever had, it never did and it always ground that amount or more, beautifully smooth. Here I had to shake it, drop it, shake it, drop it, then just shake the whole grinder to keep it grinding. Personal experience, everyone has different requirements for a coffee grinder.
