Apparently the new models are much worse than the older ones, I have a piece about 5 years old where the heating unit went out, but it also worked almost every day, the last piece was already advertised twice and the same thing every time, the Teflon started to "tear" after about the tenth use and remained in the rice even though we used the supplied spatula and we are really careful about the touch itself, also the first five years old one is still intact and the Teflon is max. scratched in a couple of places, otherwise still fine. Well also both of them obviously have a bad thermostat or something, because it cooks the rice for maybe two, three, minutes and then turns itself off as if it's cooked, which it's not. Hopefully the last advertised piece will work better.

Very disappointed. The description says stainless steel. Unfortunately I didn't read further down where it says that it's not a stainless steel insert at all but a non-stick one, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid.
