What Makes SSDs So Popular?
SSD storage devices introduce a dramatic boost in performance for all devices that work with data. The key difference lies in their lack of any moving components and a very different data processing system. This results in enhanced resistance to normal bumps and shocks. Also worth mentioning is the minimal noise and considerably reduced power consumption. The Crucial P5 500GB is equipped with a unique 3D NAND chip. This chip type is popular due to its vertical multilayered shape, resembling tiny skyscrapers. For some models, the manufacturer lists their lifespan in the so-called terabytes written (TBW). The Crucial P5 500GB has a TBW of 300 TBW.
