Braided Construction

Braided construction refers to a method of manufacturing fishing line that is not made from a single piece of material, but by braiding several thin microfibers, most commonly made of polyethylene. The number of these fibers, for example 4, 8, or 12, determines the basic properties of the resulting product. A higher number of braided strands usually leads to a smoother surface, a rounder profile, and higher abrasion resistance. Compared to classic lines made from a single piece of material, known as "monofilaments," braided lines have significantly higher breaking strength and almost zero stretch at the same diameter, which ensures better contact with the lure and more sensitive bite detection.
