Manual Ignition

An outdoor stove with manual ignition does not have an integrated igniter. To operate it, an external source of fire must be used, such as a lighter, matches, or a fire steel. The user first turns the valve to release a small amount of fuel and then applies a flame or spark to the burner, thereby igniting the mixture. This is in contrast to stoves with piezoelectric ignition, which generate a spark by pressing a button directly on the stove body.
