A car camera in the form of a rearview mirror is a device that is installed onto the original mirror in the car. At first glance, it looks like a regular mirror, but it includes an an integrated display and a camera lens that captures events in front of the vehicle. The display, which can cover the entire mirror surface, is often invisible in an inactive state, and the device functions as a classic mirror. When turned on, it displays either settings or a live image from the camera. Many models allow the connection of a second, external camera, which is placed on the rear of the car. The image from this rear camera can then be displayed on the mirror's screen, functioning as a digital substitute for a rearward view, for example, when reversing.
