Registering for the programme
Users can register for the ESU programme at any time up to the final deadline of 12 October 2027. If you are already registered, your coverage will continue automatically until this date without further action. You must use a Microsoft account to register, which will be linked to the licence. This account must not be registered as a child account, and the process requires the device administrator to log in.
System compatibility and requirements
To successfully install the updates, your personal computer must be running Windows 10 version 22H2. Specifically, Home, Professional, Pro Education, or Workstations editions are supported. The device must have the latest released version of the system installed and the user must be logged in with an administrator account. Registration cannot be completed without meeting these system requirements.
Device and account management
The purchased licence can be applied to up to ten different devices that are linked to the same Microsoft account. The programme does not support use in commercial scenarios for devices in full-screen mode. Registration is also not typically offered for computers connected to an Active Directory domain, Microsoft Entra, or registered in a mobile device management system.
