If you align the radio and the Connect IT CCC-9090-BK, then it works fine as HF. The drawback is that if you are listening to the radio, you have to have the MT within earshot, as the flashing call message on the Connect IT display is easily missed if it is not in your field of view and the phone ringing is not transmitted to the radio. The frequency on which the device is paired with the phone must be saved in order to switch (retune) to an HF call. For vehicles without a BT connection, it is one of the convenient options to receive calls while driving and not risk a fine.
