I kind of misunderstood the designer's focus. The central fan drives the air to the notebook and 4 side fans pull the air to the sides of the notebook. I would assume that the 4 fans will also drive air through the cool metal base into the laptop (right where the graphics card is). But no. So a little reflection and after a while the air on the sides is flowing as it should. BTW, I power the pad externally and do not drain the laptop battery.
It lowers the temperature effectively and efficiently. in this case it is a pleasure to watch the temperature of both the CPU and the powerful GPU dropping.
The slight noise is due to the blasting cold air. It is of course higher than the internal fans, but we have a choice.
