After a few years, we decided to upgrade our capsule coffee machine to a bean-to-cup machine. This one impressed us mainly because of its size - it fits in a smaller kitchen. Choice of two sizes and intensities. Coffee preparation is easy, the display is clear, except that you can't set your own cup size, but we like the preset sizes. After each coffee it is necessary to empty the coffee and wash. I like that ground coffee can also be used. We found the brief instructions for descaling under the QR code attached to the coffee machine. We definitely recommend this coffee machine.

The Quickstart guide links to krups.com, which you can't get to. It redirects to krups.cz, where entering sa4001e0 does not find any product. After a while of trying, when you find this coffee maker, clicking on manual leads to error404. I can't find the manual via VPN even on the US, GB, DE sites, I won't try any more.
He's making coffee
It's small.
Instructions for use are missing. It is neither downloadable here, nor on the krups website, nor can it be googled. Quickstart guide and safety info are NOT instructions for use.
After a while, it will start showing the rinse icon. Although I know what the word means, I have no idea what it means for this product and how to get rid of the icon.
The amount of water cannot be adjusted. Maybe you can, but it's probably written in an inaccessible manual.
I'll probably have to reclaim it when it gets clogged with limescale, because without the manual I somehow have no way to unclog it.

Hello, thank you for your review and I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We would be happy to help you resolve the situation:
Instructions - In the box is a Quickstart guide leaflet with a QR code that links to the complete instructions. You can find it in English directly on pages 223-239.
Rinse - The "Rinse" icon indicates the need to rinse the instrument.
Descaling - The procedure for descaling is described in the instructions on p. 235-236.
Water quantity - The machine is set for espresso and lungo, but you can stop the brewing process at any time by pressing the START/STOP button. This allows you to achieve a smaller amount of water exactly according to your needs.
We hope that these specific points from the manual will help you to use the coffee machine to its full potential. Instructions can also be found on the product page, specifically in the "Advice and Instructions" tab.
If necessary, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you and have a nice day, Ondřej - Alza expert

For me, it's great that I can prepare different types of coffee and don't need a massive machine on the counter. The coffee machine makes exactly the ones we like the most. I find the steam wand less practical, as it can't be tilted upwards or to the side. After frothing the milk, I have to tilt the mug to get it out. With taller mugs, this isn't exactly convenient and I have to be careful not to spill the milk. So, I'm thinking of putting the coffee machine on a stand.
The coffee maker does not take up much space.
It's easy to use and doesn't have too many buttons.
It has a grinder and a compartment for already ground coffee.
The rack for placing mugs on gets scratched easily.
The frothing nozzle cannot be tilted.

The coffee machine allows for a wide range of customisation and preferences thanks to its many settings, e.g., drink temperature, coffee intensity, drink size and, of course, the type. The coffee machine fits well in a modern kitchen, and the buttons disappear when the machine is turned off, so they don't stay lit all day. It's easy to clean, and every important part of the coffee machine is easily accessible and simple to understand.
The taste of coffee
Smoothness of the drink
Appearance of the coffee machine
The buttons disappear after the machine is turned off
Easy to maintain
The milk frother is too low, a larger mug won't fit.

Doesn't take up much space.
Makes good quality coffee.
Pleasant appearance.
Practical (easy to refill with water and coffee, easy to clean, acceptable noise level when grinding coffee).
Even after cleaning the coffee drawer, the indicator light stays on. You have to disconnect the machine from the power supply and turn it on again. Only then does the indicator light go off.
The coffee is leaking from around the pin used for emptying the used grounds and not from the designated opening.

Compact coffee machine. You can adjust the grind, temperature, and amount of water. Large water tank. The only thing that could be improved is the height of the coffee dispensing area. A larger glass, for a latte for example, won't fit.
Compact
Versatility in coffee preparation
Not enough space for taller glasses
