I mainly drive around town and park on the street. So I wanted a good quality camera, mainly for the parking mode, because I've had a few times where I've walked up to my car and it's been damaged. To make the parking mode work on the camera, I bought a smartbox from Navitel. When installing the camera in the car, you need to be careful to glue it precisely, because afterwards you can't move the camera (both front and rear) - the only possible thing is to correct the lens up and down, which I find absolutely tragic. The front camera can be removed from the holder, the rear camera is not, it is glued forever until you tear it off - I consider this a big minus and I wonder what they will say about it, for example. police officers in Austria, where such cameras are banned. The DVR center app (iOS), which allows you to pair the camera with your mobile via wifi, is absolutely terrible, user unfriendly and virtually non-functional. It offers to play the video from the camera, but it only plays a white screen. In order to play the video, it has to be downloaded to your phone - which is extremely impractical and takes "half a day" if you need to go through footage from a longer period of time to find a specific moment. The camera is constantly hot and I feel like it has an extremely high power draw. Because of which it constantly discharges my car battery, the smartbox then disconnects it due to low voltage and thus does NOT charge when parking - I will just repeat that I bought the camera primarily for the parking mode. After parking the car, the camera records for about 2 hours (only the terrible time-lapse, but at least something), then the battery voltage drops and that's it. In the other car I have a camera from MiO, its parking mode is 100 times better and so is the phone app, it doesn't drain the car battery, which is recharged during the drive for further parking (however, it has other disadvantages and that's why I reached for Navitel). The camera records good quality video and if you only need it to record driving, it is good. I definitely wouldn't buy it again, it hasn't met my expectations and needs. I consider the purchase amount of over 6000 CZK (camera, smartbox, memory) as money thrown down the drain. My long-term dissatisfaction with the product led me to write this review, and the last straw was when my car battery died again. So I took it out of the car, took it home overnight to charge it. I came to the car in the morning and it had a freshly scratched bumper - the scratches look like from the chain/leash of some dogs that hang around all the time, their owners don't care and still let them pee on the cars. But what caused the scratches, unfortunately I will never know - because of this terrible camera.

It seems to me that it consumes a lot of power and in parking mode, together with the Smart box, we drain the car battery in a few days and then it doesn't record anything when parking.

It bothers me that it only records time lapse in parking mode, which is not convenient for me. I would appreciate it if it could record full video, but only if it detects motion.

Time-lapse video in parking mode quite often fails to capture important events.

The DVR center app is tragic, once connected to the phone it is impossible to play video footage, only a white screen shows instead of video.

The welcome melody can be turned off by turning down the overall volume in the settings, but the camera will not make any sounds (GPS, assistants). If motion detection is not active, this may be the reason for the G-Sensor's random recording of the response to shocks while driving, where the relevant files are stored separately in a protected folder. When recording only the front camera, please make sure that there are indeed no files in the "Movie_B" tab. During recording, check that the signal from the rear camera is going to the main camera (by pressing and holding the "down" button). Very good processing of both front and rear camera. The installation of the rear one is more challenging due to cable stretching. The video recording is of very high quality. The recordings can be played back very easily on the computer, but also through the app, but it has a small shortcoming so far, it always plays only one video and the next one starts only with a white background - hopefully the manufacturer will fine-tune it in time. The camera is also equipped with steering assistants which, apart from lane monitoring, work quite commendably. The lane watch reported overruns even in places where there were no lanes and where there were they couldn't tell a solid from a dashed. GPS position and speed are also recorded during the journey. The controls are not complicated and the camera is in Czech, so you can set everything up quite well. The only thing I would still appreciate is the muting or turning off of the jingle that is played when starting and shutting down, if you have to stop and turn off the engine more often it soon becomes very annoying.

I had the opportunity to test the NAVITEL RS990 GPS car camera and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. I like that it's a Czech brand - everything is clearly in Czech, which is not commonplace with some other cameras. Plus points for the radar database, which works really well. The camera also offers more advanced features such as lane departure warning, but these are not yet completely reliable. But what really impressed me is the image quality - thanks to the Starvis 2 sensor, the image is clear even in the twilight. The app is intuitive and within seconds I have a recording on my phone. The camera can only be operated up to 35°C, which is not possible in summer in a heated car, also the camera will overheat in long-term operation. I appreciate the one year Navitel Map license included in the package, but the navigation display is smaller. When connected to a laptop, the camera keeps turning off and on. She didn't always get the blind spot right.
