Probably the best Android TV box in 2020
It doesn't have Android for mobile, but Android TV, which I see as an advantage.
Better integration with a TV that already has Android TV in it than, say, an Evolveo box with Android "phone".
Powerful processor, AI is significantly more agile than Evolve, the player plays in real time even high bitrate videos like Sony XAVC S.
It also has game streaming support, but I haven't tried that.
Everything works out-of-the box. The box detects what TV it's connected to, reconfiguring the buttons on the controller accordingly to make the integration seamless and smooth.
The controller lights up at night when you move, which is nice.
It has a built-in Chromecast that, among other things, can. thanks to the pairing of the off/sleep functions with the TV, it also allows you to turn the TV off and on remotely via Google Assistant
Pairing the volume with the TV, there is no need to control two volumes separately as with classic boxes.
Pleasant and brisk main menu.
It also counts with soundbar/audio system integration (I haven't tried)
Supposedly the best 4K upscaling on the market using AI
The built-in Google Assistant with voice input/search is great if you want to find something quickly, e.g. on YouTube, much better than running for the keyboard or tapping it on the controller.
It doesn't have Android for mobile, so it doesn't have a "full" version of the Google Play Store like, say, Evolveo.
The shape of the controller, reminiscent of the famous triangular chocolate, is not entirely comfortable in the hand and evokes the taste of chocolate, which will significantly increase household consumption: -)
The centre button on the controller is a bit recessed, so it can cause problems for people with long nails.
Higher price, but richly compensated by the quality
It has no optical A/V output or SD card reader.
Upscaling using AI for low input resolution or unsupported refresh rate will be disabled and remain and upscaling without AI, which will e.g. on YouTube more often than I would have expected.
Upscaling using AI, although much praised, didn't completely convince me. It's true that it adds some extra detail, but subjectively the image isn't quite as pleasing as the one without AI upscaling. Rather, it looks like an unnecessarily exaggerated sharpening (sharpen filter).
