I use it mainly for rice and chickpeas and it works great for that. Slow cooking is a good feature, but due to the small volume I don't have much use for it. For the same reason, I haven't tried steaming in 3 months - I suppose it would work, but the volume is really small (I can imagine it being used to prepare fodder or something like that). The device sputters and leaks water through the pressure relief valve, it is nothing tragic, but a small puddle can form on the plate around the device.
