The face material is definitely not Pollar Fleece, but some kind of thin, rather thick fabric, through which the underlying aluminium foil shines through. The blanket is quite stiff (slabby) and stuffing it in the washing machine would be the end of it I would guess. It can be wiped with a damp cloth.
