I purchased Starlink due to the unavailability of a reasonable alternative in my city. Optics non-existent, DSL impossible and 5G with a minimum guaranteed speed of 30Mbps seems like a mockery to me. After a week of use, I am getting speeds from 150 Mbps to almost 500 Mbps (North Moravia) without dropouts and with a response time of up to 30ms. My antenna is placed at 8m height and with a completely unobstructed view. Considering how often satellites are being sent into orbit, we'll see better speeds very soon 🙂 ! I recommend it!

After the quick delivery of the set by alza, I contacted starlink support directly about the shortcomings, which I did not expect from a product under SpaceX. It was a minor bend in the antenna panel and a gap in the frame. After a quick agreement with starlink support I got a new set immediately (within 4days)...however, this set had the same problem. after shipping the 3rd replacement set and communicating with support...and from searching for info in other discussions around the world, but it appears that this is more or less a "standard" feature and does not affect functionality or water resistance. The speed with which the problem was solved and the effort of support I have not yet encountered...and I would highlight this over a minor flaw in the quality of the design 😎 probably similar to that of Tesla... A tip about the mount - if you are looking for a mast or pole mount I would recommend not buying the mast adapter alone, but ordering the upgrade kit from the previous generation so called. "ADAPTER FOR STANDARD TO STANDARD TO STANDARD TO STANDARD WITH POWER" where there is both the same adapter for the pipe (aluminum) and the short pipe and you still save about 500 compared to the adapter itself 😉

According a GPT calculation, This Starlink dish will consume 8000 CZK of energy per year. It contains a heating element to melt snow and ice in the winter. Add to this the monthly intenet fee and you will end up spending 23000 CZK per year for connectivity. Mobile internet is cheaper and more flexible - but if you run a home-office from a remote hill in Sumava, this is your friend ❤️
