I generally rate it positively despite my aversion to cloud stuff. The end justifies the means. It has a few IT flies, but it can be worked around.
Relatively simple and functional
Good night IR illumination. Even in total darkness, it'll illuminate nicely

The basic connection to the nanny is via the cloud for free, so out of control, guarantee, whatever. When it's going, it's going. When someone turns it off, it'll make a nice toy for the kids.
For pairing, this requires access to the location on the mobile phone. Why? That the nanny would also have GPS and check the "proximity" of the pairing cell phone? What else could it be used for?
I'm generally against all kinds of cloud stuff, but I guess I can't do otherwise. The only other option is live video feeds, but the signal will still be bad. If you go into a basement or a bar in the hotel, it's still no good.
It is not a substitute for a classic baby monitor, unless the transmission has to be on all the time. The app does have a notification that it has detected a sound, but a screaming baby monitor will get you out of bed much faster and more reliably than a beeping mobile phone. Not to mention that you might want to turn off your data for the night to get some peace of mind.
