We bought the dishwasher as a replacement for a previous 15 year old Fagor 1LF-073IT dishwasher. Practicality, size and variability of the interior layout were the main priorities. Whirlpool won quite clearly in this respect.
Huge interior space. The MaxiSpace is not just a marketing gimmick, but the space is really bigger than other dishwashers. The side walls and doors are very thin to the benefit of the interior space.
The bottom basket can accommodate large plates with a diameter of 27cm and the middle basket can remain in the lower position.
All the plate ridges on the lower basket can be folded down to create a completely flat space for pots etc. The combs are also divided into halves and each can be folded separately. It is therefore possible, for example. place plates in the right part (ideally large ones in the back and small ones in the front) and use the left part for pots. The use of space is thus very efficient.
The ridges of the middle basket are also split in half, everything in the basket can be folded down to create additional flat space.
The top basket offers additional space for bowls, cups, glasses.
The combination of the top cutlery drawer and the smaller cutlery basket is brilliant.
The dishwasher is very quiet.
The mechanical design is robust. Such a robust design of the device including mounted side sheet metal covers is not quite common today.
Variable mounting. The dishwasher can be attached either on both sides (2 screws on each side) or on one side and the top to the worktop (again 2 screws). This is handy when the dishwasher is on the edge of the kitchen.
Lots of meaningful programs and good descriptions in the manual including water and electricity consumption figures. The descriptions of many other dishwashers are missing, inaccurate and often only for the ECO programme.
We have only used it a few times so far, always in the Auto Mix 55° programme, and the dishes have always been perfectly clean.
"Extra drying" option to improve drying quality. Without this option, I observed drops here and there, e.g. on the cutlery.
The touchscreen control panel is well laid out and the operation and settings are simple and intuitive.
Projecting the remaining time on the floor is elegant and practical.
Bummer for me: -), for others another advantage, after a few days after purchase Alza discounted the dishwasher by 2500Kč.
