The development of memory cards is going forward and proof of this is SanDisk, which presented the SDXC card at the Photokina 2016 with the world's largest capacity - 1 TB.
Memory card development is constantly evolving and SanDisk is further proof of this trend, as they presented their SDXC card with the world's largest storage capacity of 1TB at the Photokina 2016. A few years ago, something like this would have seemed impossible, unnecessary even, but the modern demands of state-of-the-art recording devices changed everything. Making a 4K video at 60fps can fill up a standard SD card's entire storage capacity in just a few minutes. However, with 1TB of storage on the SanDisk Extreme PRO, you will be ready to record hours of video and store thousands of high definition photos.
Disk capacity refers to the total amount of data that a memory card can store. Higher capacity allows you to store more files such as photos, videos, music files, etc. This is a key parameter when choosing a memory card, and should be matched to the individual needs of the user and the type of device in which the card will be inserted.
The storage capacity of a memory card refers to the amount of data the card can hold. Common sizes range from a few gigabytes (GB) to several terabytes (TB). The capacity you need depends on your specific application. For basic photography or low-resolution videos, a smaller capacity may be sufficient, while for 4K videos or large photo files, it's better to choose a card with a higher capacity.
UHS (Ultra High Speed) Class is a standard that refers to higher speed classes of memory cards. UHS-I, UHS-II and UHS-III are different variants that provide different minimum write speeds, ranging from 104 MB/s to 624 MB/s. These cards are ideal for professional video and photography applications where fast and reliable performance is required. UHS classes are also accompanied by U1 and U3 classes, which indicate specific minimum speeds of 10 MB/s and 30 MB/s respectively.
