It is really thick, so the glass extends beyond the raised edge of the mobile cover, which normally prevents contact between the glass lens and the surface. So the glass will be in contact with the surface all the time. If they get hit by the lens, I believe it will protect them. However, this is redeemed by the deterioration in quality and fogging.
It's really thick and therefore it has an effect on the quality of the photos, the lenses have another thick layer on them and it shows.
It simply fogs up, and that's not even due to large temperature differences.
