The input sensitivity is really insufficient for RODE microphones (VIDEOMICRO shotgun or Lavalier lavalier microphones). It was necessary to add another amplifier stage. The headphone output is more practical: It plays loud enough, but don’t expect hi-fi quality here either. The advantage is that it doesn’t cost much and provides you with an audio output/input even on Linux (Debian 13), which cannot handle the TRRS connector found on standard headsets (though it can handle the TRS connector found on earphones alone, so you’ll need to opt for that combination of earphones and a mic, i.e. (you may need it).
For headphones – just about

PS5 detects it automatically as an audio output. Only the output volume is quite low. It needs to be turned up to almost maximum on the speaker.
It works on the PS5 as an audio out.

I have a problem with the Samsung S23 in that the external microphone is overdriven so that the recording cannot be used. Golden old Huawei. Anyway, the soundtrack helped a bit whether the price is good. But I kept another RODE sound system. Significantly more expensive, but also better sound.
