The main reason I upgraded to this model was the SSD slots. Asustor allows you to completely install the entire system there and only then insert the classic platter disks. Which has a huge advantage in that platter drives then cost most of the time. With the previous model, I constantly struggled with the drives constantly turning on because some application needed to write something. Which is noisy and reduces the life of the discs. So I ended up being afraid to install anything in the dark and shutting down the NAS. Whereas now it runs permanently, the disks are stationary and I can run whatever I want. In my opinion, this is a major advantage of Asustor. I've never found info that the competition can do this, there SSDs are only ever used as a cache to increase performance.
Option to install the system on SSDs and then insert the classic disks into the NAS. As a result, all applications are on SSDs and classic drives are stationary 99% of the time.
Docker support so you can run anything on the NAS
It has 2x 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port with aggregation capability.
Several times it has stuck, stopped responding and a reboot was necessary.
