I have it verified and it was my second purchase (our previous version with a metal bowl lasted 6 years and still works)
the cable is not retractable and has to be pushed back into the device (with the caveat that it cannot be fully tucked away - a rather difficult task once it is pulled out)
some of the plastic parts look pretty phorous, so let's see what it can take
