Brother is always a hit. This printer is proof of that. It's already a well-made printer. It works reliably on the network (over ethernet is 100%, I haven't even tried wifi). It is very fast, not only in printing, but also in the very beginning of printing. Scanning is also decently fast, even through the feeder. Duplex printing is absolutely reliable, although of course it slows down printing significantly (typical for most printers in this price category). Unfortunately, the duplex scanner is missing and is not replaced by a software variant on the computer, so if a duplex scan is needed, it is necessary to scan into images and then manually merge into a PDF. Printing from mobiles is seamless. A positive is the large and covered paper tray. However, the output tray is made of very thin and flimsy plastic. For a printer in this price category, that's a bummer. The printer is quite heavy, but that's because it's sturdy inside. As far as print quality goes, text and images are flawless even at standard quality. However, the photos are inferior even at the highest quality and the colors are washed out. Compared to HP's tank printers, this Brother is a class below. Škoda. What I appreciate very much is the user-friendliness, not only the decently large colour LCD in Czech, where the naming of menu items is intuitive, but also the accompanying PC software, which is spartan but fully functional, unpretentious and reliable. Especially against Canon it stands out, but HP should also have something to learn. The installation itself according to the included instructions was so incredibly simple and intuitive that even my grandmother could probably do it. The extended warranty after registration is just the icing on the cake of a quality product at a decent price.
