If you put the water on to boil at 100 C, the water is already bubbling until the kettle is almost jumping, but the kettle won't turn off. The delay of boiling (bubbling) water until the kettle switches off on its own can be up to half a minute. If you pour the water up to the max, it may even start to spurt out because of the delay.

when I bought it, it didn't occur to me that the lid could be snap-on and not automatically open at the touch of a button
steam condenses in the lid and after a while there is water in it. I don't know if the watering can will need to be reclaimed.
