Google Pixel 11 Pro: An overpriced disappointment, completely unsuitable for content creators
I'm deeply dissatisfied with this phone. It's overpriced, cheaper competitors can do more, and the Pixel is, at most, suitable for a casual user. Video problems:
Unstable focus: FOCUS HUNTING = The image spontaneously 'breathes', it can't lock on (when filming myself, it constantly micro-refocuses on the background). During the golden hour, the colours are flat, details are over-sharpened, and the video has a shimmering effect = SHIMMERING. Choppiness and FPS: Active stabilisation only works in Full HD, which is outdated by today's standards (Nobody mentions this in reviews)!
In 4K/60FPS it's quite decent, but when you switch to 30 FPS the video isn't beautifully smooth. Control issues: Accidentally brushing your finger switches the mode in the Photo/Video app and automatically drops the FPS to 30. Can't keep up with B-rolls: When shooting a large number of clips in a day (e.g., 500), the processor is slow, saving takes a while, and when the phone heats up, the video starts to jump. (This is at 20°C, I dread to think what it'll be like in the summer)!
With a large number of clips, Video Boost isn't worth it! Sterile sound: Even after the updates (which fixed the crackling and quiet microphone), the sound is extremely ironed-out – ambient sounds of nature (leaves, birds) are completely inaudible.
System and other shortcomings:
Slowness and bugs: The phone is generally slow, the Wi-Fi sometimes drops out on its own, and stock Android lacks convenient enhancements. The system is 'one bug after another'. Glitches in apps: On Facebook, when viewing photos, you just have to move your finger by 2mm and the photos immediately close on their own. AI and Assistant: Google Assistant only works online and in English (Siri on the iPhone also works offline). Gemini performs worse than the competition. Battery: Only lasts for one day. (I charge it once a day, sometimes more). Positives:
Great photos: After a minor tweak on the PC, they come close to a DSLR.
Good zoom: But at maximum zoom, the AI starts making things up (Chinese characters instead of text, an antenna and wheels on a flying bird).
It works stably with an external USB-C wireless microphone. Conclusion: A huge disappointment. I've had many phones, but this one has the most problems and is absolutely not worth the money!
