I am a professional musician and need affordable headphones with quality balanced sound. Marshalls offer this, so I went for the safe bet. I especially like their bass and just the fact that they don't "hurt" the ears: With Drum&Bass, both the bass and treble sound great, and the bass isn't too bassy and the treble isn't sharp. I have these Marshalls in Cream and so far it suits me very well. But from experience they get badly dirty over time (I had Marshall Major III or IV in white before) and even later the faux leather starts to peel off, which is a really ugly and inelegant process. But by then I'll be in a situation where I'll be happy to upgrade to headphones without compromise, and I'll gladly give a seven or ten for them. Such will hopefully be both elegant and easy to use, with great sound and will sit perfectly on your head without the need to take them off after a while due to pressure on the ears or the corresponding heat from listening to music.

I’m old school – about, um, 24 years old 😂 but to the point, the headphones are great for sound – I’ve never heard such a clear sound before, and I didn’t mind the look much either. I was a bit disappointed that the hinges were made of plastic, even if it was high-quality, but to the point, I returned the headphones because of one issue, and that’s the volume – for me, it’s too quiet on my mobileEven with the volume on max, I still wanted more. When you crank it up via the official app’s equaliser, it sort of shrieks, but some of the song’s details get lost. I’d say they don’t even have any bass – just a bit of a buzz, so as not to be unfair. They’re fine for someone who isn’t an idiot like me and needs have the music blasting at full volume, even if it’s dark metal with pig-like screams. To put it in plain English, I’m just used to how it was X years ago: you’d turn the phone up to max volume and the headphones up, and it was brilliant. That’s simply the best sound on headphones, and to me it just doesn’t seem loud enough. Instead, I bought the NFC noise-cancelling version; as they’re slightly bigger, they have better bass, and with the noise-cancelling feature, they’re simply better for listening to music. They suit me much better than these headphones, so as far as I’m concerned, if you’re going to do it, you might as well pay an extra 2000 extra for the noise-cancelling version. These Major 5s disappointed me right from the first few tracks; I simply expected more from headphones from such an iconic brand
