We bought the baby monitor on the basis of a special offer. After turning on the parent unit and pairing it with the camera, I was very disappointed by the low resolution of the display (480x272) at 5" diagonal, where not much detail is visible on such a display. The camera itself has HD (720p) resolution. The signal speed is a bit laggy, but I didn't see that as a big problem. Pairing with the mobile app, on the other hand, was seamless, as was the WiFi connection, and the video image on the mobile phone is slightly better than on the parent unit. Literally terrible is the speaker on the camera used for two-way communication. As well as its volume adjustment options, even the lowest volume was too noisy for us with all the white noise or default track playing features falling down for us. My wife and I had the baby monitor at home for two days before we decided to return it. During that time there was no loss of signal, but again we don't have a large apartment, so it was not possible to test better. We had the opportunity to compare the baby monitor live with the philips avent connected scd923/26 which is better in all respects (the philips has the same display resolution but on a smaller diagonal, which makes the picture look better). We ended up buying a morotola PIP 1610 baby monitor which looks a bit outdated compared to the VM855, but it has a much better display, a much better camera and personally better sound from the camera, even though it's not a win here either. 1610 also bought as part of the event.

I compare it with an earlier model Motorola MBP50, which worked long and reliably. I kind of expected the mobile app to be garbage. For an emergency beer sitting across the street from the house, when you don't take your eyes off the phone, it would probably be, but the app was stuttering, so I'd have to put a fan in the view to see that I'm not looking at a screenshot. But the main problem was the beeping of the parental unit. I' m disappointed. Not at this price. I am returning the goods.

The application is of poor quality, the connection between the application and the camera is unreliable, the image froze, even on a profi wifi installation and optical Gbit internet. The application did not warn me acoustically about signal dropout/freeze.
Only supports 2.4GHz Wifi. When you're on a 5Ghz mobile, you have to switch to 2.4GHz first and it's just a hassle. I did it three times before it worked.
This is the *main* problem - the audio on the parent unit is beeping. I had to return the baby monitor, because what good is it for me to have the baby sleeping in the next room if I can't fall asleep because of the beeping from the speaker (it doesn't depend on the volume).
