He can't vacuum on the carpet at all. It attaches to the carpet and only with great force can it be driven over the carpet and vacuumed - we have a completely normal carpet. cheap junk or I came across a defective piece - returned.

It's noisy, light and small and therefore often tipped over, the tube made of cheap plastic probably won't last very long.
