I had two plugs and both died in the same way, the fork contact in the electronics flat joint heated up and the plug started to 'burn' - the plastic melted, it smelled. Wrong construction, the fork is held in a flat joint by a bolt that loosens over time as it cycles through the temperature, it is not soldered.
