The device is fine, but when configured, it takes over the original wifi settings and the channel on which it then transmits, causing interference and jamming of the original wifi network. Changing the channel to the original wifi won't help as it will reconfigure automatically on the extender as well. But otherwise it works great and the signal on the EXT network is sufficient and seamless.
