I' ve had it for over two years and it still works (despite the heat)
temperature - in normal operation it is warm, when copying it is a hot potato
USB-C - just look at it wrong and it will disconnect
if it didn' t disconnect even if a person accidentally kicked the table, it could be used to warm the hands.

I bought the 240GB version due to some overheated reviews, so I risked this capacity. But I haven' t noticed anything on my piece yet, not even any negatives. If I bought again I would probably take a risk and go to the 480GB version. This disc looks to be well made and yet small in size. It arrived formatted to FAT32, so I just reformatted to NTFS and weakly as a watch.
