I’ve switched from an RTX 5090 – what’s the difference? Minimal. I play games in 4K on a 240 Hz monitor, and I have no trouble running even the most cutting-edge games in ‘4K’ at 80–120 FPS. Sure, I have to spend 15 minutes tweaking the settings for every game (usually medium to ultra) and have FSR and frame generation enabled, but the new FSR 4.1 delivers a very high-quality image, similar to that of DLSS 4. I don’t notice any artefacts; the image quality in games is just as good as if all the settings were set to maximum. The only thing this graphics card absolutely cannot handle, however, is full path tracing, but given the price, that’s acceptable. For example, I play... Forza Horizon 6, Black Myth Wukong, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, DOOM Dark Ages, Windrose, Medieval Dynasty, Kingdom Come 2 – and I’ve got 4K resolution running on all of them with FSR set to ‘balanced’ or ‘quality’. When the base frame rate is higher than 60–70, you can enable frame generation x2 without causing a significant increase in input lag.
Price-to-Performance Ratio
2850–3000 MHz core clock speed under full load without any manual overclocking
Silence
Cooling (around 62 degrees in summer under full load in a well-ventilated and very quiet case with 8 Noctua fans)
Subtle backlighting
This XFX Mercury model can be considered one of the best 9070 XTs on the market
Handles 1440p / 4K with upscaling in modern games with ease
For owners of smaller cars, it can be a big
Typical power consumption under full load is around 303 W (the 5070 Ti performs better)
I switched from the same brand, namely from SPEEDSTER MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX BLACK. Lower raw power (about 5%) but with full support for FSR 4, which is noticeably better than FSR 3.1. I'm playing in QHD and the power is plenty for my 165hz monitor at this resolution. GPU temperatures up to 65°C, hotspot up to 74°C (so excellent delta) compared to the old card, which had a chiplet solution and the delta was already creeping up (probably due to the pressure of the heat sink and extrusion of the heat conductive paste). This chip is a monolith, so that's probably not a threat. This chip is a monolith, so that's probably not a threat. Memory temperature up to 65 °C. It is necessary to deliver all the indicated temperatures with minor adjustments: fan curve set to 1500 RPM; UV 105 mV; EN 100%. This chip is a monolith, so that's probably not a threat. I'm using the Fractal Design Define R4.
