The game console delivers a great gaming experience for avid and casual gamers alike. And it is not just about powerful consoles PlayStation and Xbox with 4k resolution support, but also portable handheld consoles that let you enjoy your favourite games to play anywhere. Which gaming console is right for you? We will give you advice.
What does the next-gen console bring?
We've been anticipating the arrival of next-gen consoles for a long time, but they're here now, so it's time to see what they offer and how they're better than the previous generation consoles. We'll tell you straight away that there is no shortage of generational differences.
4K at 60 fps – we have already had a partial taste of 4K resolution on consoles last generation, but it's only with the arrival of the new one that it's becoming the standard, and at 60 frames per second.
Much better graphics – The new generation of consoles allows developers to use more carefully modeled details, higher quality textures, longer rendering distances, and many other graphical aspects that can make games look significantly better than ever before.
Shorter or no loading screens – new Xbox Series console and PlayStation 5 include SSD, and therefore significantly faster storage than older generations. This makes games load much faster, and in some passages, loading screens will disappear altogether. We'll see bigger and more believable worlds.
Ray tracing in real-time – ray tracing has redefined the way light propagation is possible in games - it mimics the real world much more closely, adding significantly to the game's photorealism. And next-gen consoles support hardware-intensive ray-tracing.
Up to 120 pictures per second – some games, especially competitive ones, will offer a mode that runs at up to 120 frames per second.
PlayStation 5
The new generation also offers everything we love about Playstation consoles. But compared to the PS4, it has PlayStation 5 almost six times higher graphic performance and incomparably faster storage. As a result, next-gen games can have visual dimensions that we've never dreamed of before. Exclusive to PS5, we'll once again play games from the great God of War, Spider-Man, Uncharted, and Gran Turismo, as well as multiplatform titles like the latest newest additions to the Assassin's Creed and Resident Evil families.
After Xbox One X, Microsoft is once again bringing the world's most powerful gaming console to gamers. Theoretical Xbox performance Series X is nearly ten times greater than the original Xbox One, clearly demonstrating the greatness of the generational difference, reflected in the graphics of games. We are looking forward to big next-gen titles, but the Xbox Series has one more ace up its sleeve - the Xbox Game Pass. It gives you access to hundreds of brand new and older games at no extra cost.
Want the new PlayStation 5, but at the same time want to save money? Instead of the classic PS5 console, you can choose so-called Digital Edition. It differs in nothing but price and the absence of an optical drive. So if you're not interested in buying physical copies of games anyway and prefer online distribution, the PS5 DE is for you. Performance is identical to the classic PlayStation 5, so except for the drive, you will not miss out on anything.
The new Xbox Series family of consoles includes a model aimed primarily at those wanting to save money. The financial savings are even more significant than with the new PlayStation, but alongside the drive, you're also giving up some power. The S model is not built for 4K gaming at 60fps per second. But if you're happy with a lower resolution, you'll also enjoy 60 frames (or even 120). Plus, you'll have proven legends in addition to new games, thanks to backward compatibility that goes back to back to the original Xbox era.
Historically the best-selling console brand? Definitely Nintendo. The most popular models in this family include the Nintendo DS Family, Game Boy, Nintendo Wii, and also the latest Nintendo Switch. At the same time, Nintendo is also behind legendary game franchises such as Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, and Tetris. Don't want to miss them? Then Nintendo consoles are the obvious choice.
Nintendo Switch
The best and latest Nintendo – Nintendo Switch – finds a place not only next to the TV, but also on the go. When you unplug it from the dock, you can take Switch anywhere. It becomes a compact, portable console with enough power to play lots of games. And there's plenty to play on it. As well as exclusive games like Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild, you can now play Skyrim, The Witcher 3, Rocket League, Doom and Ori, and the Will of the Wisps on the beach and elsewhere. There's also a smaller and cheaper version of Nintendo Switch Lite.
Gaming console of last generation (PS4 and Xbox One)
Even last-generation consoles offer great performance, a sophisticated environment, thousands of favourite titles, and gaming with friends. Because these are classic TV consoles, the focus is on user comfort and convenience. The only thing you need is a game console and a monitor or TV.

PS4 Pro is a more powerful version of the PlayStation 4 games console, especially with 4K and virtual reality.
PS4 Slim comes with a more power-efficient, but not less powerful processor and a new compact design.
Microsoft – Xbox ONE gaming console
Gaming console Xbox ONE allows streaming games on a computer or tablet with Windows 10 system. Xbox Live provides access to multiplayer and cooperative sections of games, exclusive discounts, and other benefits.
