A mobile phone is considered shockproof if its design can withstand higher mechanical stress. Its manufacturer usually states from which height the phone can fall without damage, but detailed conditions of impact resistance of individual models may differ.

A mobile phone is water resistant if it meets a certified level of durability that allows total immersion. When it comes to mobile phones, it is the specification of the IP67, IP68, or IP69 Ingress Protection rating.
