price/performance ratio
heats up a lot - operating temperature under load 80-90degrees with NZXT KRAKEN 280 off load 50-60degrees

I was expecting it better but only some games have less boost it will definitely be the optimization of the games. Although the cpu is no longer at 100% but the graphics are also not that optimizing the game (some locations in cyberpunk and hogwarts legacy). Who has an AM4 socket so definitely a good choice in 2024, much cheaper than the new AM5 socket where you have to buy a board and RAM and a more expensive cpu.
Super boost over 5600X
96MB L3 cache
8 Zen 3 cores
No cpu bottleneck with 3060 ti
Temperatures on Arctic 34 esports duo 70-85°C when playing with Thermal Grizzly paste and around 50°C at rest

Bought for a "gaming" console where it replaced the i5-10400F, which was no longer enough in MSFS2020 in more demanding CPU scenarios.
Bought for MSFS and CPU intensive sites, from 20 FPS full stutter, beautiful 50FPS without stuttering, braked by graphics, without GPU as brake 70. I mean. more than triple the performance of the original CPU
After undervolt (curve optimizer on negative 30) the CPU is cooled by Freezer 34. At full load slightly above 80 degrees with 14 hundred revolutions (70%) up to 70 degrees it spins 590 revolutions = in gaming deployment the CPU cooling is almost inaudible.
In MSFS only minimal difference against 7000x3D Ryzens at a significantly better price (combo board, processor and ram). 3D processors are playing in a performance league of their own in MSFS and are leagues ahead.
An incomprehensibly large package that has room to pack a cooler, which of course is not included with the CPU. Not only is the box unnecessarily large, but it is stuffed with a plastic "pixel" in which there is nothing. That's not exactly environmentally friendly.
Idle power consumption of around 20W is quite unusual. The original i5 was 6-7W.
Roughly double the gaming power, but also the performance, compared to the original i5.

As some people write here that they have a problem with temperature so with NZXT KRAKEN 360 water cooling temperatures in all games I play which are demanding on the processor so my temperatures did not exceed 50-55 degrees.

A year ago I bought the R5 5600 as an upgrade from the R5 2600, but gradually I started playing mainly realistic online shooters (Rising Storm 2, Hell Let Loose) and Flight Simulator, where even the new processor was running out of breath. So I ended up with the R7 5800X3D and plan to last 10 years (2018-28) on the AM4 platform.
Significant increase in performance and gaming smoothness even over R5 5600
Temperatures are up to 75 degrees even with a normal heatsink
If you upgrade from Ryzen 1xxx or 2xxx, the increase is truly incredible
Necessary to subvolt in Bios (relatively simple, but probably not every board supports it)
Temperatures reach 90 degrees without subvoltage

An unrivalled bulldozer for games on the AM4 platform. Functionally incredibly schizophrenic iron. Lower temperatures and consumption when playing. Higher temperatures and consumption when working. At the maximum load of all cores, temperatures go into the red at 90°C and the power consumption goes above the manufacturer's stated value (127W vs. 105W). But by adjusting the fan curve and undervolting, you can take 10°C down in five minutes and 15W down at identical power.
Performance in games is unrivalled among AM4 platform processors. This is really the ultimate for this socket. You can't get anything better to play in it. The increase in FPS compared to the 5700x is in all games I have installed and it is completely illogical (65W vs 105W processor) at lower temperatures and lower power consumption!
Primitive easy podvoltovani via Curve oprimizer in BIOS of MSI board.
After undervolting (curved optimizer all core -30) the temperatures are slightly better (according to Passmark the performance is lower by about 0.15% which is within the statistical error).
Although in games it reaches lower temperatures and power consumption than 5700x, in workload it is exactly the opposite. It's a processor for games. He's not fit for the job.
In non-gaming deployments high temperatures are around 80°C with the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 and a case with five Noctuas. Good paste and offset mounting is a must.
If you want to work on the computer, undervolting is an absolute must.

I have long considered upgrading from my thankfully old AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor. This processor even exceeded my expectations, the performance is great and in many games my micro stuttering disappeared. 1% FPS are great. I use a NOCTUA NH-U12S cooler with one fan. Temperatures under load 90 °C, but under undervolting by 0.05 in BIOS it runs at a nice 70 °C under load. If you play poorly optimized games like Escape from Tarkov you will be thrilled, in all games my FPS went up.

Great performance
Best gaming processor in AM4 socket
Quite warm - 90°C under load
It's quite expensive for being almost 2 years on the market
