The top part of the heatsink just clicks into the bottom tray, and it only goes on one way. You have to start from the side where the top of the Arctic logo is pointing, hook it correctly onto the designated edge, and then snap it closed into the tray with the drive inside. If you mix up the sides, it either won't click into place at all, or the two pieces will get jammed together so tightly that you can't get them apart without using force. If the drive is inside at that point, then good luck. On top of that, the heatsink has sharp edges which you could easily cut yourself on if your hand slips. If you do it correctly, there's a recess on the top side where you have to insert a screwdriver and literally twist it to pry the two halves of the heatsink apart if you need to disassemble it. You probably can't do it without scratching the heatsink. Aligning the drive in the heatsink so that it can be inserted into the slot and screwed in wasn't such a big problem, but you need to be careful. Especially if the board uses some other mechanism instead of a screw. The heatsink might get in the way. I have a 3.8mm drive, and I couldn't even fit that in without the bottom thermal pad. Even the pre-applied one is too thick for such a thick drive. So if you have chips on both sides, you'd either have to buy thinner pads (about 0.5mm), but I can't guarantee that would work. The heatsink fitted the Samsung 990 PRO very well, both pads were used and it clicked together quite easily. The price reflects the user-friendliness.
