I was looking for a reliable printer for my home with cheap inks. For printing text with images and graphics, not for printing photos. Brother offers such a product, but the tax for this is low print quality. It seems to me that this printer is made for really occasional printing - for situations where it's just better to have at least some prints than none. Reliability and speed is only good if you print a few pages. For dozens of pages at a time, it's already a hell. I once needed to print a total of about 300 pages on this printer and it cost me 4 hours of constant printer troubleshooting. If I could, I would buy a more expensive model that is more robust and faster and occasionally on sale for a similar price to this one without the action.

Very poor colour reproduction of outputs (even with the highest quality setting and using the best paper). It can only mix a few basic shades. Unusable for photos, very limited for graphics.
Poor output sharpness (even with the highest quality settings and best paper). Although the manufacturer states beautiful DPI values, the reality is different. Text is harder to read, details of graphics are not visible. I don't expect laser-like sharpness in text, but this is just not good enough.
Reliability is also not great. When printing a 50-page file, it quietly strikes several times, saying it has overheated and needs to cool down. Or it will not print the entire file. Or omit some pages.
Printing multiple pages (colour and double-sided) takes a very long time.

We've had nothing but the best experiences with Brother's previous tank model - it was the first printer that didn't talk back and always printed without a problem, so when we needed another, we chose this one. Apparently this printer has different newer firmware that guarantees that traditional printer experience. It connected to one computer instantly, to another it took a good 10 tries. Sometimes it prints without a problem, sometimes it throws a connection error and you need to delete the frotnu and enter the prints again, sometimes it throws an error but still prints.
