Why the manufacturer states a theoretical nonsensical range of 20 km is a mystery. The very description of the method of its measurement excludes in advance the achievement of this absolutely meaningless figure, moreover with a permitted power of 100 mW in the EU (CE) and not even 400mW (in the US with the FCC). The actual maximum range in the wild with zero interference is about 3 km, in a partially built-up area 2.5 km, practical safe use is about 1.5 km at most.
