The capo is cleverly designed to guarantee as little detuning of the octave double strings as possible. Of course, it may not fit guitars with thicker necks, such as Ovation guitars. But the capo can be used with them too, it just takes a little practice.

Unfortunately, e.g. on the second fret, the upper strings (E, A) don't squeeze when fully tightened, so it rattles. The thickness of my neck is about 20mm. It would take a longer bolt.
