I switched from the Fenix 6 pro and the difference is noticeable. What I appreciate compared to the older model is significantly better system fluidity, battery life, new features, solar, better display, touch control. Totally satisfied and I hope it will last me a few years.

The maps are really cool. I had Insticty 2 before and often took wrong turns on the blind map. I can see what's around me, too.
It's handy to have music on your watch. I'm wearing one less thing
You can also record your own music (I don't have to have a paid service)
Instict 2 probably has better buttons
I'd take a cheerier color
It doesn't do mass storage, so I need an Android transfer filter to manually manage files

I've now switched from the Fenix 6X PRO and it was already an excellent watch. Not much has changed about the F7X PRO. They're a bit bigger (you can't put the silicone cover from the sixes on it) have a better heart rate sensor, so even for more demanding athletes it could go without the chest strap. There are a few other new things, like a flashlight, or again new activities, I'm glad for table tennis. I won't use the new special metrics. The only thing that disappointed me is the readability in the twilight, without backlight. Compared to the F6X, it makes a difference. I'm not exactly an "islander" anymore, but the sixes were better to look at in the twilight. I have to have the backlight gesture set all the time with the sevens. Just make it a little dark and I'm done. Again, when the backlight is activated, just at 20%, the display is again a level away from the sixes. They say it's darker in the twilight because of the solarium. Oh, well, I'll get used to it. My third Fenix, I wouldn't want another watch.
Better heart rate sensor
Solar charging
Better readability and display quality with backlighting
Slightly better endurance again
Of course the flashlight
I like the design
Without the backlight in twilight, the display is hard to read, although it is slightly better quality
The Topo v5 voucher was in the package, but the app didn't take the code. They're already working on it at Garmin.

This is more of a sporty and functional watch. You can't compare it to a Samsung or Apple watch. These tend to be more fashionable, with more clever features. But that's at the expense of display readability in poorer conditions, poor battery life, worse physical durability. These Garmin Fenix 7 PRO have very good battery life as well as decent durability. The display is really wonderful in terms of its readability. But the colors do not dazzle (for that Epix or something else with AMOLED but shorter battery life). Even with the shirt on, they're not ugly. It offers a lot of good features for the demanding user. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement and new features, or a piece of further development. Personally, I'd give them about 7b out of 10b. I'm not familiar with a 10b watch, but it would be the maximum you could get out of today's technology without compromising anything (legibility, endurance, water resistance).
Very easy to read MIP display even in low light conditions using only black and white without backlighting.
Great readable display even in bright light.
Long battery life when the display is always on.
Accurate and fast GPS measurement.
The touchscreen can be turned off or used only in the map to make it easier to navigate.
You can create your own watch face at garmin.watchfacebuilder.com.
Decent sensor measurements. The values can be taken as a guide for some evaluation. Although sleep sometimes doesn't assess quite accurately in terms of sleep levels. I haven't found a watch that's really good at this yet. It will also record naps.
The ECG can also be operated in a roundabout way. Just don't think of it as a medical device.
You can download free maps of Europe, America, Australia, a piece of Asia directly from Garmin. Or better yet, pay extra. You can also use very good but slower OpenTopo.
After the initial connection via the app, further synchronisation of activities and updates can be done without a mobile phone only via WIFI. Also if you don't want to synchr. notifications, calendar, weather, then the watch can be used offline for a long time without connecting anywhere.
Solar charging delivers up to +1% charge per hour. But it really takes a lot of light.
Pretty decent options for customizing the appearance, button behavior, item layout, activity and data fields.
Walking, bike, cardio, stepper, elliptical trainer, treadmill records well. Let's see how he handles swimming.
It is possible to download files via USB. It's faster than using the app.
Also, the development environment is pretty decent and even the AI has some code samples for it. There are also ready-made apps such as drink tracking, tetris, calculator, notes.
Flashlight with white and red light. Red is gentler in the evening and does not disturb sleep.
Only 64 colour display. It's great to read, good for charts and maps, but not for some photo dials.
Occasionally worse recording of sleep levels. But I haven't found this anywhere without an error.
There could have been a larger display in the case and the case could have been thinner if everything fit.
The ding with the sensors makes a small blip even with a loose strap. Those who are not sensitive won't even notice. It's only slight, but it could be improved by more rounding.
ECG is not officially allowed in the EU in this watch. The legislative process has not been completed.
He can't take blood pressure. Which would be great.
He can't make calls or data. If it could only do this to a limited extent, turned on only as needed through stamina, it would be great for emergencies or ignoring the cell phone. Similarly, to the beach, when there would be no need to deal with a cell phone.
Min. the brightness could be lower at night.
Occasionally some imperfections in the mobile app or computer app.
The red light could have been on the other side and it would have been a great flasher for night walking.
Very slow map downloading via WIFI or mobile. More convenient via computer and Garmin express

I've had my Garmin Phoenix 7X Pro for about 3 weeks. Now the second complaint. For the money, quite annoying.

After years of transitioning from the Suunto environment to Garmin. The watch provides a million information and options to customize your environment. In the sport profiles I miss the bikepark option with the downhill only counting without the cableway, in MTB Enduro mode it can't use the crash detection function, so you have to use the default bike mode and adjust the fieldy. There is also no option to display the max HR field - this is only displayed in the data in the APP. Overall nice processing and a large data supply.

I hope it doesn't end up with updates like the previous model. After the release of the new model support 0, message from the service center: buy a new model.
