What is completely missing from the product description on ALZA is that it is not so much a GPS navigation device as it is MAINLY a locator/SOS detector/SMS communicator (by way of satellite communication), and also that all communication functions are PAID (annual fee + monthly plan that can be activated/deactivated as needed).
Small, lightweight, durable
Decent endurance (when the sky is visible)
HW-wise it works as it should
For occasional use, it's not that expensive to run after all
SOS function with call for help (virtually) anywhere in the world without vertical GSM signal
Possibility to deactivate the communication plan when not using satellite communication (although the annual flat rate is still paid)
As a simple GPS it works of course without any payment
Unclear activation and accompanying software (classic Gramin. )
QR code from the screen during installation points to a faulty application
It is not possible to plan ahead to deactivate the plan (when using the SOS/tracking/SMS function), you need to think about it and deactivate the plan in time to avoid missing the next payment
Misleading (fundamentally incomplete) product description on the Alza website

A great thing for outdoor enthusiasts. If you are far from civilisation or suffering from a dangerous disease, it is always good to be able to call for help. If the device has direct visibility to the satellite, it has good battery life (days), but if it is constantly looking for a signal (e.g. in buildings), they don't even last 12 hours. The biggest disadvantage is unfortunately the price, not only the purchase price. To make everything work, you still need to get one of the prepaid plans, which differ in price and services. It is not a cheap affair, so it is up to you to decide whether it is worth buying this equipment.
The ability to communicate virtually anywhere in the world
Light weight and small size
Carabiner for attaching to backpack
Good battery life when moving outdoors
Necessity to subscribe to satellite services
Without direct visibility to the satellite, it quickly drains the battery
Complicated control
