For this product, the heatsink is not pre-installed on the drive itself. It is included in the package, but it is necessary to put it on. It's not complicated, but make sure the disc is oriented correctly in the cooler.

I bought the drive for PS5 (the manufacturer announces it as fully PS5 compatible), the cooler is nicely crafted, but what was my surprise when I wanted to mount the drive with the cooler on to PS5. I should point out that this is a newer PS5 model (original design, not SLIM), which has a metal bottom for the M.2 SSD tray. The heatsink of this disc has too high a bottom (from the bottom of the heatsink to the bottom of the disc), and the back of the disc gets stuck in the air. It cannot be folded so that it sits on the auxiliary roller and can be screwed in.
Older PS5 models that have the green bottom of the M.2 drive bay will probably be compatible with this drive.
dimensionally incompatible with newer PS5 models (original, not sure about the SLIM model)
