After fifteen years I upgraded the i7 920 to the 14th gen. It' s funny what Intel managed to produce in that time. Basically zero displacement. 8 usable cores at a higher frequency is essentially the only benefit. The rest is good. 20 pcie lines is laughable. Basically, connect nothing but the graphics and SSD. e cores complicate all atypical processes. I' ve never seen so many BSOD blue deaths and crashes all of a sudden before.

Amazing processor
If you want a processor for gaming and work, then this is a significantly better choice than the 7800X3D, those 20 cores against 8 just do not deny .
Turbo 5.5ghz at 125W, those claiming intel is heating up, I have no idea what you're talking about.
If you only want a chip for gaming the 7800X3D is cheaper and about 10% better.

I wasn't expecting much from it, but it still lived up to its billing. It's hard to remember when they got 4 new kernels practically for free - even at a discount compared to year-old products. And despite the high frequencies it works even on air cooling which was already 12*13gen impossible, only with water cooling. Yeah it's still 10nm Intel but final revision and you can tell they squeezed the most out of it.
against earlier generations much tuned and on the clock speeds at which you would cook at 12/13gen and water cooling so this one can handle on air
Decent price, about 500, - cheaper than when 13700K was introduced after an inflationary year.
