It's an excellent device with a great price/performance ratio. For a low purchase price, you get a device with a huge number of network functionalities. The basic router setup (NAT, DHCP, port forwarding) is done in 5 minutes, and the rest of the functions are pre-configured by default, so the router is ready to go. From the more advanced settings, I particularly appreciated the 1Gbit speed performance and the built-in WireGuard VPN, which took more time to set up, but it works brilliantly with VPN clients on Windows and iOS. It can also be set up in peer-to-peer mode to connect multiple LAN networks. The detailed documentation on the official Mikrotik website https://help.mikrotik.com/ is also absolutely exceptional. The sophisticated WinBox configuration client, which can find the router on the network using only its MAC address, is also brilliant. It's also available for Android and iOS. Another option is to access the device via a web client. I definitely recommend it for a home or SOHO business network.
Simple configuration of basic router functions
Perfect documentation on the official Mikrotik website
Sophisticated configuration client for Windows, WinBox
"Professional" range of router (RouterOS) and firewall functionalities for advanced users
PoE on all ports
All modern VPN types are built-in, including WireGuard
The supplied DC adapter only provides a 24V power supply. If you need 48V PoE on the LAN ports, you need to buy a 48V power supply.
