I bought an unpacked piece, now I understand why someone returned it. The box has an extremely but extremely noisy fan, which has no speed control or is not connected to a temperature meter, it simply spins whenever the disc is not asleep. I solved it by just unplugging it, it' s completely useless, millions of external drives work perfectly fine without any oversized blower. However, it is necessary to have a special bit for this, because the manufacturer could not screw the case with conventional screws.
