LED bulbs have a number of advantages over classic halogen ones. But if someone thinks that buying LEDs will make their car shine like a Mark 4 Octavia, they're mistaken. The bulbs have a prescribed output which they cannot exceed, and better halogen bulbs can also achieve this. However, it's worth considering what's more advantageous. Get an LED, have a modern look and never have to change a bulb again, but potentially have a problem at the MOT (depends on the specific technician), or get a proper halogen bulb, albeit with a limited lifespan, a full tank of petrol and lunch.
Homologation - they are homologated for use on public roads.
Battery life
Savings – lower energy consumption due to less heat loss.
Unlike the first generations, these shine where they're supposed to.
Type approval – in your car, you must have the type approval certificate for use on public roads for the specific bulb, along with a list of compatible vehicles. This means the initial pages with the bulb's name and information, and the page that lists your vehicle and its lamp.
Energy-saving - since the bulb is more energy-efficient, it doesn't get as hot as a halogen. You'll be battling with freezing headlights in the winter.
