The Philips Series 5400 coffee machine is the highest model in their range. The device offers great functions, it can prepare up to 12 drinks, it has 4 profiles in which the settings of your favorite drinks are stored - then you can prepare coffee with almost one click.
After unpacking, the coffee machine has simple instructions for putting the coffee machine into operation, if anyone is still lost, I recommend visiting YT, here you will find the Czech video installation instructions. After installation, you can immediately test how the coffee machine works.
The bean hopper has sufficient capacity and works perfectly, there is also the possibility to set the time to grind the coffee beans to fine-tune the taste of the coffee. The container also has a lid that seals relatively well to prevent the coffee beans from getting wet and prevents UV penetration to maintain quality.
The water tank is large enough, but it is made of plastic, which is a little “rubbery“, but it is a small detail that has no effect on the function. You will receive an AquaClean system with the coffee machine, which helps to filter the water that goes into the coffee machine - the filter itself is variable according to wear and its status is shown on the coffee machine screen when switched on. The manufacturer states that with a regular change of AquaClean, the coffee machine can handle up to 5,000 cups without the need for descaling. It sounds like decent numbers, time will tell what the truth is.
The grains here are ground with 100% ceramic mills and this whole system is hermetically sealed - that is, it is perfectly insulated. A great thing that should guarantee that the system will last a long time. In addition to grinding coffee beans, there is also a compartment where you can put already ground coffee and then set the coffee machine to make this coffee. A great option if, for example, you have decaffeinated ground coffee for children and you want to make it for them with frothed milk.
The LatteGo system really gives me a thumbs up. It cleans well, excess milk can be easily stored in the refrigerator. In the end, the capacity of the whole system froze me a bit, because I would easily make it twice as big and hold more milk. The system itself connects to a separately located nozzle, which can also be used to pour tea using hot water.
The use of the coffee machine is then facilitated by personal profiles, which are divided here by color. There are 4 profiles that remember your coffee settings, which you can then do with just one click. I' m a little sorry that there are only 4 profiles, if you are considering having a coffee machine in the company or you have a large household, the coffee machine could have twice as many profiles.
If you order a coffee machine, you will definitely not regret it, the machine itself looks very nice at home, it also has ice backlighting and it is a real helper for people who want to make coffee preparation easier.
