It handles freezing from the socket just fine, at an ambient temperature of 25–30 degrees, it got down to 0 from empty in under an hour. When the cooling is on and it's filled with room-temperature food, everything is nicely chilled in about 3 hours. What I appreciate most about this fridge are its internal dimensions. I originally bought the 19L version. That would have been more than enough, but there's a problem with standing bottles upright – a bottle of wine is about the maximum you can fit in there. Of course, you can tilt the bottle to gain some space, but then it's difficult to fit anything else in. Given that the 32L version is actually the same height according to the dimensions, I went straight for the 40L version. It's truly massive. 4 PET bottles of various drinks plus things for a barbecue, and there was still space left. The internal height is about 36cm, so even 2.25L bottles of a certain unnamed cola drink fit in :) Unfortunately, you can't fit three of them side by side, but that would be asking too much. It's one of the few fridges this tall that I could find. It does take up quite a bit of space in the boot. In a Hyundai i30 estate, the total height is still below the boot socket (the model without the dual/raised floor), so it's the ideal solution.

Tested the cool box while camping in Croatia in temperatures of 35–39°C. I recommend protecting it from direct sunlight to ease the load on the compressor. The 40L capacity was just right for 5 adults (beer, colas, milk, cheese, butter, eggs, salami, etc.). We are satisfied with the cool box.

A 2L PET bottle of cola or standard 1.5L mineral water bottles fit upright in the fridge with no problem.
The fridge lid opening can be easily switched from the left to the right side.
The LED lighting is perfectly adequate and illuminates the fridge well.
The plastic finish is great for use in the outdoors. It won't get scratched as easily as glossy plastics.
The cables are sturdy and long.
